Tying the Knot

November 15

+1 note

This weekend I watched “Tying the Knot” - a documentary made about gay marriage and released in 2004. It amazed me that even though this movie is only 5 years old, it is now incredibly dated in many respects. The issues raised regarding the legal rights and protections denied to those in same sex partnerships remain the same, and DOMA still exists - but the movement forward since then has been incredible. I mean, this was JUST around the time that MA legalized gay marriage. Since then, we now have Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa, Vermont, and New Hampshire who have legalized gay marriage. I have faith that even with the falter in Maine, more will come soon. In fact, Prop 8 is going to court as we speak!

Additionally, after watching the movie, I am still convinced I can, with logic, totally knock any argument against gay marriage out of the water.

So. In order to back up my claim, I will respond to the following - what arguments have you heard against gay marriage?
